This year, LocationTech will not be hosting our annual FOSS4G-NA conference due to the return of the international FOSS4G conference to the United States. We are proud to announce that we are silver sponsors of the event in Boston on August 14-19, 2017. We will be back in 2018 – watch for news on that in the coming months.
With no FOSS4G-NA this year we had the opportunity to focus our attention on developing a new conference concept that blurs the line between an open source and a traditional GIS event. So, LocationTech is thrilled to announce CalGIS LocationCon in Oakland, CA on May 22-25, 2017.
CalGIS LocationCon 2017 is a co-hosted conference that combines the annual California GIS conference (CalGIS) with LocationCon, which is a new LocationTech event that targets Eclipse Foundation members and others who are focused on the commercial use of open source technology. The event is 4 days, including a full day of workshops at no additional cost, meals, larger audiences and incredible speakers from all over the geospatial industry.
We are still accepting presentations and workshop proposals. Get yours in before the deadline! Submit yours today. Tracks include:
- The Business of Geo
- Data: Big, Little and Everything In-between
- Geospatial Education
- Tools and Technology Innovations
- and much, much more
